Since September, TIME's @findinghome is chronicling the lives of three Syrian babies and their families as they fled war with the hopes of better lives in Europe. Baby Heln, seen here, is one of them. "Taimaa, Heln's mother, had to rush baby Heln to the hospital, and amid the chaos and the worry, she left her phone behind. There is no call more important to a Syrian refugee in Greece than the one from Asylum Services saying that finally, after months of agonized waiting, there is a European nation willing to take you in," writes TIME's @arynebaker. "As every refugee knows, you can’t afford to miss that call. You bring your phone with you everywhere you go, and you never let the battery die. But because she was with Heln, who had just been diagnosed with an acute bronchial infection, Taimaa missed that call. Even as she struggled to help Heln breathe, she couldn’t help but wonder, what would happen to her next?" Follow @findinghome.
