Photo by @bethjwald/@thephotosociety // After three days of freezing rain and grey fog (both literal and metaphoric), I went for a run yesterday afternoon in the #foothills outside of #Boulder, #Colorado. On a trail up Flagstaff Mountain, the clouds lifted, revealing a transformed world… every pine needle, twig and blade of grass was covered in layers of ice crystals sparkling in the sun. All I had with me was my phone, which quickly died from the cold - so after taking a few photos, I had to just BE there, taking in the breathtaking beauty, and the wonder of nature, its power to cleanse the soul, to inspire the heart. After a dark week, a reminder of what I love, what is important, what is worth fighting for. In the end, it was a fragile, #ephemeral wonderland. Last night, warm chinook winds blew in and broke the spell, and by dawn, the pines, bushes and grasses had all shed their coats of diamonds.@bethjwald #whatyoulove #hoarfrost #frontrange #ice #rockymountains #iphonephoto #wonderland
