Photograph by @paulnicklen // Leopard seals need to eat but they happen to eat perhaps the cutest food source in the world. In this case, it is a chinstrap penguin. Of course I feel terrible for the penguin but this is nature in the raw and a life cycle that has been unfolding for hundreds of thousands of years before we ever walked this great Earth. Many want to judge this top predator but the irony is that because of our massive carbon footprints, these penguin populations are declining dramatically around Antarctica. Tomorrow, we sail through the Southern seas with an awesome team of journalists, story-tellers, scientists and a captain who was actually born in Antarctica.
