Functional clothing is key for Ray Zahab’s success during the #ArcticExtreme Expedition. For most of his journey across Baffin Island, Ray wore a base layer, HyBridge Lite Jacket and Timber Shell—even when skiing in -30°C/-22°F conditions. “Your physical output is huge,” he says. “One day we estimated we burned about 10,000 calories pulling our gear up the moraine. You need to be functional with your clothing and you can’t stop to make any adjustments--because if you stop you’ll freeze.”
