国立アメリカ歴史博物館のインスタグラム(amhistorymuseum) - 2月23日 23時01分

This is a token of love from World War II. As people of Japanese descent, Paul Ishimoto and May Asaki were both incarcerated in the Jerome camp in Arkansas during the war. Paul hand-carved the wooden pin to woo May. It must have worked as they were married in the camp in April 1944.

Today at 11:05 a.m. EST, take a look at our new exhibition on Japanese American incarceration on Facebook Live. Just head over to our Facebook Page (facebook.com/AmericanHistory) and click the "like" button. Then click "following" to get a notification when we go live.
