Just a sampling of the #singleuseplastic we picked up at our Saturday @surfriderla Beach Clean-Up. And yes, I include the ciggies in that category because the butts are cellulose acetate- merely another non-biodegradable form of plastic that adds to the almost 14 million tons that humans release into the ocean each year. ? So what can you do? One simple thing is refusing a straw ? when you get a drink at a restaurant. You can also carry around a reusable water bottle. ?
