Dan Stevento (aka @thekidscancerpt), who works with kids in the pediatric cancer rehabilitation unit, chose appropriately for his Halloween costume, cause he is a big ol’ ball of brightness. “PT Dan” has dedicated his life to helping kiddos whose bodies have been adversely affected by cancer and harsh cancer treatments. He helps them with more than just physical skills, though. Dan brings love, optimism, hope and compassion to every patient and to their families. I have never seen him without a smile, and I’ve never spent time with him without hearing him go on and on about his admiration for his patients, colleagues and friends. He walks The Way by habitually putting others before himself, cheerleading people who might not get recognized and, through it all, maintaining humility. Some might get discouraged by spending so much time around suffering, but Dan sees God’s blessings even in the dark moments, and he is a blessing to others. PT Dan was part of an undercover mission to bring a certain hammer-wielding blacksmith to visit kids for Halloween…I’ll share more about that later, but out of respect for our #sagaftra colleagues who are working hard to gain a fair contract, we’ll have to wait 😉 Thank you, PT Dan.
