As the days creep closer to taking off to Haiti ?? I keep asking myself... 'Are you ready?' And the answer is no. I'm not. I don't think I could ever be ready because I'm so unsure what lies before me... my man (who is pretty much an expert at this stuff) and I spent around 3 hours studying the map, and every elevation change. We looked at the villages and small towns- contemplating if I should go north around the mountains or south and straight through them. Myself followed by my entire team notified the US embassy of our arrival and route plan. As well as getting medavac insurance incase something horrible goes wrong. - from this point forward, it's increase my caloric intake, keeping that muscular endurance training up and hitting some more long runs in the next two weeks. It's mentally preparing and gathering supplies. I will see you soon Haiti. And if you're just now seeing this and wondering what the heck I'd need medavac insurance for ? - I am running the western coast of Haiti# 230 miles@#AshleyRunsHaiti ?????? with a small team of support @hannaheden_fitness @efoozephoto , a Haitian doctor, two security guards and a driver.
