During, World War II, the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League was formed and women took to the baseball field. ⚾️ Joyce Hill Westerman was a catcher for the Peoria Redwings. She started playing in 1946. She loved playing catcher because she was in every play. She played for eightseasons before retiring in 1951 and was featured in the last segment of the movie “A League of Their Own.” This is her uniform.
