Living in Seattle absolutely changed the course of my life (for the better) & I'm forever grateful to my musical idols who selflessly put me on their shoulders to show me the ropes...Count Basie, Clark Terry, Ray Charles, Benny Carter…You name it. They helped guide me through this crazy thing we call the “biz” & I honestly don’t know where I’d be if it wasn’t for the impact that each of them had on my life. It’s because of this that I feel so strongly about the importance of mentorship & helping our young ones!! So, it makes my soul smile to announce that I’ve co-curated a stage at my brother Paul Allen's @upstreammusicfest with some of my favorite young artists such as @justinkauflinmusic & @eliteplinmusic to provide a platform for the next generation of musical idols.
