今日のささやかな感動…。ステイ先のマンションで、友人に借りていたギターを返し、自分のギターを買いに行こうと、ギターケース片手にエレベーターに乗った。途中、白人の50代くらいの男性が乗ってきた。日本では、エレベーターに途中で人が乗ってくると反射的にどうしても、クセで下を向いたり、携帯を見たりして、なんかちょっと隠れてしまうというか…。"この人、自分に気付くかな…" とか。そんなことを反射的に思ってしまう。しかし、相手はアメリカの方で、僕に気付くはずもない。黙っていると、彼が先にロビー階の上の、駐車場の階で降りた。そして一言 "Have a great gig!!" と僕に言った。ギターを持っているからって、"イイセッションしてこいよ‼︎" なんて言ってくれた。アメリカでは普通の光景だが、感動して普通に気分が良くなってしまった。とっさに僕は"You too!! "と言ったが、その男性は多分ミュージシャンではない…（笑）なんか、とっさの出来事に、ワケわからないことを言ってしまった…。たぶん男性は、"オレはギグ（なんらかの楽器の演奏）ないのに…" って思ったかもしれない（笑）でもそれでもイイ…（笑）僕がミュージシャンであることを、感じ取ってくれて、かけてくれたさりげない一言に、なぜか高揚感を覚えた。
人間は不思議だ。他人がかける一言や、他人の行動一つで、幸せな気分にも、不愉快にもなれる。完璧は無理かもしれないけど、僕に会った人は、幸せな気分になれるような人間でありたい。

Today's impressions .... I returned the guitar I borrowed to a friend and got on the elevator with my empty guitar case because I wanted to go buy my own guitar. On the way, an American man in his 50's got on the elevator. In Japan, when people ride the elevator, by reflex, we look down at the floor by habit, look at our cell phone or just stay quiet .... I think this is quite common in Japan. However, the man on the elevator was American.
I kept silent, but as he got off at the floor of the parking lot above the lobby floor, he said "Have a great gig !!". I guess he said that since I had a guitar case with me. It is a common thing in the US to say a little something in the elevator but I was so impressed and moved. Suddenly I replied "You too !!", but the man is probably not a musician ... (lol) It all happened so quick I didn't know how to reply. Perhaps the man was thinking , "I'm not going to a gig ..." (lol) But that's ok. Haha. It's amazing that he could tell that I am a musician, and said a couple words. So touching.
Humans are strange. People can cause unpleasant feelings or such happy feelings by one little phrase. It may be impossible to reach perfection, but I hope that I can make those people I meet happy by my words.
