Photo by @FransLanting Flowers are beguiling to photograph. But how do you match your euphoria of coming upon something that is utterly beautiful in its own right with a photographic response? I use a number of creative techniques to express beauty when it comes to flowers. Sometimes I focus as much on finding a suitable background as on the subject itself. Here I used a blaze of yellow flowers as an out-of-focus color and I opened my lens all the way to create an impression of shape and color to highlight this cabong flower from South Africa.
