Thorsten Feige is a father, a marathoner, and a Type 1 diabetic. While running, he used to have to stop every five kilometers to prick his finger for a glucose reading. The constant stop-and-go slowed him down. But not anymore thanks to Abbott’s glucose sensing system. Feige ran the Berlin Marathon last year wearing one. Since Abbott’s glucose sensing system does not require routine finger pricking*, Feige was able to keep up his pace while testing his glucose levels at the same time. #Diabetesawareness #Abbott #type1 #type2 #fitspo #run #marathoner #marathons #runner #whyirun #themoreyouknow #diabetesfit #diabetesrun #diabetes (*A finger prick test using a blood glucose meter is required during times of rapidly changing glucose levels when interstitial fluid glucose levels may not accurately reflect blood glucose levels or if hypoglycaemia or impending hypoglycaemia is reported by the system or when symptoms do not match the system readings.)
