Photo by @Tim Laman. A school of Cortez Sea-chub (Kyphosus elegans) swim just below the surface near a coral reef in an over/under, split-level view of the island and underwater. Coiba is Central America’s largest uninhabited island and it sits just off the Pacific coast of Panama with many endemic species of animals and plants. It was a penal colony for almost 100 years until 10 years ago, so it is covered with lush rainforest.
