Carmen Herrera, born in Cuba 1915, is possibly one of the oldest contemporary artists working today. Known for large scale hand-painted works capturing geometry and colour in striking simplicity - a result of what she refers to as ‘a lifelong process of purification’. A recent profile of the artist ‘The 100 Years Show’ by acclaimed director Alison Klaman premiered in 2015. Installation view Lisson Gallery, New York 2016.
