I took this image several years ago, during a year of historically low pack ice extent, so it seems especially timely now, as we stand at a crossroads in our response to global climate change. It is shameful that the Trump Administration has abandoned US commitment to the Paris climate accord, further isolating us from Europe and the rest of the civilized world. No one but blind ideologues can argue that climate change is not happening, and Paris offered an historic opportunity to take steps to reverse it.
