Local lore says a fortuneteller in the 1940s predicted Atlacomulco, a town in Mexico, would produce six state governors—and a president. When Enrique Peña Nieto won in 2012, what she had predicted became fact. The town is the home of the legendary Grupo Atlacomulco, an informal political machine that has run Mexico’s most populous state and sometimes the country for most of the last 75 years.
