Photo by @FransLanting A harbor seal female and her pup surface in an estuary in California’s Monterey Bay where they seek shelter from the cold, turbulent waters of the outer bay. Unlike dolphins, harbor seals do not possess the ability to find food by echolocation, so they have to use their big eyes to help them track down fish in the dim lit waters.
