Photo @pedromcbride // Land of the Dinosaurs: This ancient landscape where two rivers join — one wild, the Yampa (left), meets the Green which runs clearer and "green" due to the Flaming Gorge dam up stream. Their juxtaposition serve as a living ecology laboratory comparing two aquatic river systems. It also holds one of the richest collection of dinosaur bones ever discovered. This entire region was once threatened to be flooded by the Echo Park Dam proposed in the 1950s by the @bureau_of_reclamation . Due to the dedication and hard work of a few, the Echo Park Dam was not built, preventing a precedent to dam within national parks. The final congressional verdict was decided by one vote.
