The Lone Gunn Man. I got to hug @ジェームズ・ガン TWICE yesterday at the Cement Event for @スタン・リー held outside the @chinesetheatres. Even better, I got to tell him how much I loved @guardiansofthegalaxy Vol 2 and how I listen to the soundtrack daily and smile remembering key scenes that make me happy. Those @Marvel Entertainment movies make a fat-ass 46 year old man feel like he's a kid again. It's an incredible kinda filmmaking that goes beyond being simply entertaining for 2 hours and crosses into Fountain of Youth territory! If you can make me feel like a kid again, fuck you - take ALL of my money! And I'm in this business too (well, the movie business in general - not the successful movie business), so their magic tricks shouldn't necessarily work on me. Yet they do. And James' #guardiansofthegalaxy flicks are what movies should be: an adventure that transports you to a place you've never been before to show you impossible things while delivering a lesson you can take away and into your own life: make friends; we're always stronger together; being good is better than being bad, but always be there for those who need you. This are no-brainier life lessons but it's never bad to get a refresher course - particularly when the craftsmanship is so exciting and satisfying. I get teary whenever I even think about unforgettable moments like "Peter! Take my hand!" or @ショーン・ガン letting out that emotional scream for joy at the site of the Ravagers' funeral. All that AFTER seeing an amazing fantasy featuring talking raccoons & trees in space! There is so much heart and soul in those Guardians movies that I just had to give some of it back to James. So I hugged him. Uncomfortably long. Him and #kevinfeige too. They're doing the Lord's work over there. And I may be a filmmaker too... but I'm a fan first. So this is me fanning out with the guy who made my favorite movie of the summer and maybe the year. This is why I like my job so much: not for what it lets me do or make but because it allows me to meet and interact with folks whose work has genuinely touched me or made my life better. #KevinSmith #jamesgunn #marvel #movies #starlord #seangunn #StanLee
