So here we are, July 2017 - halfway through this year & it has me thinking back to New Years. Where I was & what kind of goals I set for myself. Putting my own health & fitness was first and foremost! 💪🏼💦 Being injured half of last year & the majority of this year really got to me both mentally & physically. For anyone who has had a neck injury you know it really just shuts your body down as a whole & exercising becomes challenging to non existent in some cases. After getting out of pain & being medically cleared recently in May I was finally able get back in the gym like I wanted too. I'm still not lifting the weights I used to or fully doing everything that once was my day to day fitness regimen but I AM getting better every day. And that is all I can ask for! Being able to live pain free is such a blessing & that is the mentality I enter the gym with now. What I'm able to do in there is an added bonus. For me, the gym is such an excellent stress reliever! It really messes with my head when I can't get in there so not being able to go for months on end was crazy hard for me. But hey, here we are mid summer & I'm setting new goals weekly & getting after them! ---------- No matter what stage of your health & fitness journey you are in it's always best to take it one day at a time. Setting your goals small & knocking them out only to set more! In January I couldn't even lift 3lb dumbbells for more than 5reps. Thinking about getting back to where I used to be was SO overwhelming so I just had to take it one day at a time! I had to trust the process. We only just entered the second half of 2017 and the great news is there is PLENTY of time left! So let's get after it together. 👊🏼💋 ---------- @insta__bram @glambymyah @xxivactive @touche_la
