While #KaariUpson was growing up, her mother drank a Pepsi every day. In this series, Upson mines that memory for inspiration, using aluminum-casted Pepsi cans as materials. As curator Margot Norton explains, "The cans are clustered and stacked, doubling and redoubling their numbers as if they were multiplying cells, or relics in some post-capitalist dystopian future."
