The World at Night project
A futuristic view in the Middle East, with this single telephoto exposure of the new moon at dusk. Tehran is the most populous city in Western Asia with 15 million people in its metropolitan area. While the ancient Rey in the southern end dates back to 6000 BCE, the elevated northern end reaching the Alborz Mountains is mainly modern constructions including the 435-meter Milad communication tower which has an excellent viewing platform to the city when the air is not too polluted.
