This is regarding my Insta Story yesterday about some restaurants in Japan refusing kids (typically from 1-6 year old) to dine in due to multiple cases of misbehaving children (who caused damages to the shop). Thanks a lot for all your feedbacks, I couldn't reply all one by one, but it was so interesting to see parents of different cultural backgrounds taking different approach. . My question was, which are you???‍♀️ 1. Kids are kids, misbehavior is inevitable. ? 2. Kids who dine out in public must behave.? . Many asked me back which one I am. I am practicing 2, although I must admit that it's incredibly challenging. Many times either of us had to bring @cheesiepetit out of the restaurant when they made a scene, and only bring them back in once they have calmed down. My god sometimes waited until all our appetite was gone ?. Many many times we also rushed through dinner when we suspected that their pattern is about to come out liao lol. . My thought is that while it's natural for kids to talk excitedly and make some mess, every other customer is also entitled to their peaceful and quiet meal time. I imagine when I become an old lady, I won't like the kids banging table next to mine.. or when I become a restaurant owner, I also won't like parents who let their kids jump all over the couch with shoes on. . So I agree with some restaurants turning kids away, since there are many other choices available such as family restaurants. And if we must dine out, it is the parents' responsibility to make sure that the kids don't cause any trouble. So far we never had any problem dining in with @cheesiepetit in restaurants in Japan before! Most of the restaurants staff are very understanding and empathetic. EAT ALL THE JAPAN FOOD!!!!❤︎????????
