This ancient Moroccan city is at the edge of the Sahara Desert in south central Morocco on a high plateau - 1160 meters - near the Atlas Mountains. Its many ancient Kasbahs and history are an attraction, however, the city is now famous for all the motion picture production studios located here. Lawrence of Arabia was filmed here along with Gladiator, the Last Temptation of Christ and many other well-known films. Tom Cruise filmed part of Mission Impossible 5 here a few years ago.
