Meet Teeger. ?? I received a sad update about the 3 kitties that were declawed in 2015 by a long time @avmavets & AAFP (the cat friendly folks) vet at an AAHA hospital. Because of complications from their declaws, ALL 3 of the cats had their paws or part of their paws amputated. The cat owners were talked OUT of the humane alternatives by the evil vet & were told that declawing is a standard procedure & their cats would be fine. Yep, the vets wanted the $1300 from the declaws instead of doing the right thing & educating the owners on how harmful declawing is for their cats and how they could just get sturdy scratchers, use Soft Paws, nail trims, or deterrents if their cats needed them. Teeger limps around and both of his paws are getting really hard skin on them as you can see in this recent photo. Abby doesn't use her litter box unless they carry her to it four times a day. She had BOTH of her paws amputated. Ryder is doing as well as he can with one of his paws amputated. ?? This is a horrific example of how there are often many complications when the unethical & inhumane declawing vets perform this cruel procedure. ?Most of these cases you will never hear about and the cats are euthanized. Any vet that does this inhumane procedure to a cat is a shame to the vetmed profession. Recently a big vet hospital in NJ was proclaiming that there are "rare" and "difficulty" situations where a cat must be declawed or else the cat owners will throw them away to a shelter and have them euthanized. Listen. That's all BS. If declawing is banned then these inhumane, greedy vets will have to tell cat owners that they can use the commonsense and humane alternatives. We MUST stop declawing vets from doing this procedure by educating cat owners about the awful truth about declawing. If a cat owner knows the truth on how declawing is an inhumane and mutilating amputation procedure that harms the health and well being of their cat for its lifetime, then 99% of them will not ask for it.
