In the 1870s, scientist Alexander Graham Bell suggested "ahoy-hoy" to be the standard greeting when answering a telephone. However, Thomas Edison's "hello" emerged as the winner of that particular contest. Now, what has this got do to with watches? Nothing much. Just that one of our watches is called Ahoi—but this one’s a winner through and through.
