Before the shooting for the exhibition, I had several meetings with the hair and makeup artist, photographer, and model. I asked them to think what does “Just, Being There.” mean to themselves. Especially I requested the model, Momoka Ando who was 18 years old at the time, to not simply wear my knitting piece and stand there, but to express “Just, Being There.” with her body. At first, Momoka was very confused unable to understand how she as model can pose without self-consciousness. However, each time we met and talked, her understanding of “Just, Being There.” had become more refined in Momoka. Everyone’s “Just, Being There.” does not have to be the same. We all gathered bringing our own “Just, Being There.” for shooting, and what this occasion led to is one of the answers. It became the photographs, short movie, and the exhibition. In the process of creating my knitting pieces, I defined the ocean as the embodiment of “Just, Being There.” and what continues to exist. I used the ocean, a cluster of shell carcass found on the beach, and sea-foams as the motifs of my knitting pieces. I normally use playful colors without a restriction for the brand an/eddy. For this exhibition, I used only the colors of the sea, golden colored beach, sea-foams, and cluster of shell carcass. The main motif was the sea, and I pictured the winter sea in Japan. We went to Isshiki Beach in Hayama for the shooting. I wanted to express “Just, Being There.” not only by knitting, but by photographing and filming as well. I asked Kaoru who is a professional ballet dancer to give instructions on posing and choreography to Momoka. A ballet dancer seems to stand lightly without an effort. In contrast to the impression, the dancer can not stand without her incredible body strength and long hours of training. I believe it relates to what I think to be “Just, Being There.” ,,, #pressblog #aneddy #ただそこに在る #knit #justbeingthere
