This shoe had been with #Underground from early 1980’s and one of the first choices when we created our 1987 Originals collection. You see, we don’t claim to have created this style, but what we are sure of is that this shoe was a design that was languishing and unappreciated. We took it up and we stuck with it. We championed it through the good times when the #PostPunks and the #Psychobilly’s made it theirs and we held on to it when it just wasn’t cool enough in the rave years. When the runway took a liking to it in the 2000s we were championing it and when it became the choice of the internet generation we were there again.

The 3cm corrugated sole. The quality box leather upper. The distinctive interlace apron feature. The metal D Rings and the leather D ring keepers, the Underground Half-moon. All dependable and reliable.

The code number on the shoe is the same as it was 30 years ago. The design is the same, the name is the same, and its Algender like it always has been. The shoe that we took up was unloved and unwanted, we nurtured, we cared for it, we recontextulised it, reimagined it and have kept it relevant. It’s not fashion for us, it’s not trend for us, it’s what we do and it’s what we have always done.
