It was peak summer which meant the Northern lights weren't visible, however we had around 20 hours worth of day light and a 3 hour long sunset each night. This phenomenon is known as the Midnight sun, where the sun sets and quickly rises again soon after. There's an abundance of beauty to be found in Iceland, and it's easy to see why it draws in so many travelers and photographers each year. The landscapes certainly felt otherworldly at times. I would love to go again, but this time in the winter to experience the Northern lights for myself.
