@sarahkatesilverman wants to pop your bubble. With her new political variety show, “I Love You, America,” the stand-up comic’s goal is to unite red and blue. But can TV really change minds? “You’ve never changed someone’s mind by arguing,” she said. “Or facts. Facts don’t change people’s minds, as crazy as that sounds.” There are enough comedians on TV, she said, explaining why their opponents are wrong. “I am interested in hearing about people’s feelings, and as corny and hippie-granola as it sounds, it is the root of everything.” The 46-year-old has pioneered a swaggeringly feminine brand of raunchy, button-pushing humor. In recent years, though, she has embraced a more earnestly engaged voice. With her new show — which premieres on @Hulu Home of Emmy-winning on October 12 — she moves even further away, risking alienating her fans and experimenting with the limits of political comedy. @brinsonbanks took this portrait of #SarahSilverman.
