After 1.5 hours' trek from Sukayu Onsen, you can find brilliant autumn leaves in the Kenasitai Marshland in the Hakkoda mountains.

We were surprised to find the changing of the leaves beginning about 10 days earlier than usual. In the distance you can see all the way to Mount Iwaki on the left.
