A leopard cub rests on a tree in the early morning light. This was taken in the northern Serengeti, just near the border with Kenya. We had seen a mother leopard and her two cubs the previous evening, but the light was not great for photos. So we headed back to the same area first thing in the morning, and found the two little cubs at play while mom rested high in the tree. This is just one of the cubs as he/she rested in between pouncing on the other cub and looking up to see when mom was coming down to join them (she eventually did). What separates a good leopard sighting from an epic leopard sighting is this activity and interaction. It was mesmerizing to watch. Shot while on assignment in Tanzania. // photo by @jonathan_irish
