At today's Investiture at Buckingham Palace, Her Majesty, The Queen awarded Dominic Troulan with The George Cross for saving lives during a terrorist attack in Kenya.
The retired British Army officer and Former Marine repeatedly risked his own life saving others during the 2013 Westgate shopping mall attack.
Dominic was working as a security consultant in the capital Nairobi drove to the shopping centre when he heard from a neighbour of the horror unfolding. He managed to locate his friend's wife and daughter and lead them to safety.

He is the first civilian recipient of The George Cross for 40 years.
