The Edwin & Cherie Silver Collection of African, Oceanic, Pre-Columbian, and American Indian Art is one of the greatest American collections of non-Western art remaining in private hands. At the heart of the collection is one of the most important group of Kota reliquary figures ever assembled. Famously displayed atop the Silver’s Steinway grand piano and underneath an Alexander Calder mobile in their Los Angeles modernist home, these reliquary figures will be up for auction in a dedicated sale on 13 November in #NYC. The monumental #Calder mobile will also be on offer in our #SothebysContemporary Art Evening Auction on 16 November.
