This quote really speaks to me in the season I’m journeying through right now. I’ve been journaling in my personal journal much more these days and yesterday I realized somewhere in our relatively packed day that I left my phone (aka my GPS, camera, hooked at the hip convenience) at home. What a hidden gift that that ended up being. I had to remember how to get somewhere somewhat unfamiliar on my own (and be willing to stop at a gas station and look at a county map like the good ol’ days if worst came to worst). There were no device distractions nor could I indulge the inclination to check my phone. And I actually found that I had a pocket of time to stop at a cafe, get a warm drink, watercolor and doodle, and write freely. It was wonderful. I should do that again. But on purpose. ;)

My favorite writing instruments are those that write well for long periods and feel good in the experience. The flower doodle was from my time at the cafe yesterday. And my @pegandawl pouches are among my most handy keeper of little treasures. They come everywhere with me.
