"I wish to blur the firm boundaries we self-certain people tend to delineate around all we can achieve."
...
Today we celebrate German artist Hannah Höch, born #OTD in 1889. Known for questioning gender roles, Höch was the only female member of the Berlin Dada group and a pioneer of using print media to challenge conventional values. Photomontages—composed of images clipped from mass media and incisive in their commentary on gender and politics—made up her most influential body of work. Delve deeper into the artist’s world with the catalogue for our 1997 exhibition, “The Photomontages of Hannah Höch" mo.ma/hochcatalogue
