Marriage equality campaign materials, Sydney, Australia, 2017
A collection of Marriage Equality campaign materials produced to advocate for the ‘Yes’ vote for the same-sex marriage postal survey have recently been acquired by the museum. The acquisition includes T-shirts, badges, posters and a banner currently flying on Oxford St, Sydney and was acquired via donation, purchase and cultural gift.
Australians were asked to vote on whether or not they believe same-sex couples should be allowed to marry. The postal survey, conducted by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), asked a single question that can only be answered with a ‘Yes' or a ‘No’. The results will be announced on 15 November, 2017.
