I need to get real here for a minute. Travel is by far one of the most rewarding, expansive, fascinating things you can do in life.

You get to meet the people you share the planet with. You see landscapes that don’t seem Earthly. .
But sometimes it’s scary. It’s unknown. A jumble of questions flit through your brain. “Is it safe? What if I get lost? What if no one understands me? What do I eat? What if I get hurt?” And on and on.
.
I’ve been all over the world and yet, right before I left for S America I panicked. I didn’t want to get on the plane. Crazy, right?
.
Part of it was that I was worried I might get altitude sickness so high up in a remote part of Northern Argentina. Part of it was my fear of flying, amplified. Plus 20 other parts.
.
But I went anyway. Because I’ve learned that often it’s not my “gut” talking. It’s fear. And if fear is the loudest voice then you gotta drown it out. You gotta push even harder.
.
You can’t let fear decide how you live. So here I am, at 14,000ft/4200m jumping like an idiot because I freaking beat fear this round.
