It begins in Orlando and flows east to its confluence with the St. Johns River, which flows northwards (like the Nile) to the Atlantic Ocean in Jacksonville. Rivers unite and sustain us, while not always seen or appreciated. Both originating in Central Florida, the Evergaldes and St. Johns watersheds encompass the entire length of the Florida peninsula.
