The Prince of Wales awards Dr Shobha Srivastava with an MBE at today's Investiture Ceremony at Buckingham Palace.
Retired consultant anaesthetist Dr Srivastava has been proactively promoting community cohesion in Tyneside. She has served as Chair of the Management Committee of Healthnet, Chair of the Ethnic Minority Panel for the Citizens Advice Bureau, Vice-Chair of the South Tyneside Regional Equality Forum, been a member of the Domestic Abuse Forum and is Governor for the North East Ambulance Service.
Dr Srivastava's MBE is just one of the many honours she has received in recognition of her work; she has previously won Role Model of the Year Award and an award for the Development of Women. ?PA
