24 HOURS OF STAYCATION BEGINS... NOW!!! Or, make that 18 hours? I gave @dennisfromsalad an early Christmas present - the one thing I know he has been craving for months... Alone time!? So I booked us a 24-hour stay at @ritzcarltonaruba with the whole shebang; lunch, beach day, drinks at sunset, dinner, A WHOLE NIGHTS SLEEP, brunch and a morning at the spa. I planned for us to check in at 1pm today and have 24 straight hours of undisturbed staycation magic but that did not at all work out the way I had planned (#parenthood)!? My mom is taking care of Luna but she woke up this morning covered in mosquito bites (covered!!) and after a slightly panicky day I decided to relax because they didn’t seem to bother her. But as the day went on they got worse and right before we were about to leave her feet started swelling up a bit and her diaper area got super red (along with the 30+ bites all over her face that are just looking more and more angry)? So instead of watching the sunset with a drink in our hands as planned we drove around the island in panic looking for baby Benadryl and trying to decide if we should bring her to a doctor or not. Ugh! I’m of course the only one truly feeling worried and both my mom and Dennis feel calm about it so we gave her a bit of antihistamines and I’m trying to not freak out. It’s just bug bites, after all! One of many, many moments where I’ll worry about her health for as long as I will live (I’m sure)? So. Just sat down to order a drink at the bar. After posting this I will not be looking at my phone until tomorrow (other than check for updates from my mom ok who are we kidding). I love you @dennisfromsalad !
