Good time racing the Hagley 5km park run this morning at 8am with these speedsters and 298 other people.
So happy to have beaten my previous time that I did a week before going to altitude by 33 seconds today. It has been 12 days since getting back from altitude with my first track race of the season 4 days ago- a 1500m in Auckland.

My first ever park run was 6 weeks ago in 17.13. And today I ran 16.40, which was a New Zealand women's park run record. Is another good indicator to us that I responded well to the 3 weeks at Snow Farm in Wanaka. Very grateful to Athletics NZ and Steve Gould from Snow Farm for giving me the opportunity to base and train there with such great facilities in such a beautiful part of the world.

Also big well done to Sam on his time of 15.12 today, beating the previous NZ men's park run record, but just beaten by Michael Kernahan who ran awesome to get the new record of 15.08.
