If you look close enough @cedarwright is standing on the summit of the Penguin, a two pitch spire near the tongue of the Fenris Kjeften In Queen Maud Land, Antarctica. Along with @アレックス・オノルド @pfaff_anna and @sav.cummins Cedar led two fun, “sporty” and frigid pitches for the first ascent of the tower.
@pablo_durana helped me look for lichen (we❤️ nature)while @jimmy_chin caught the action through his creative eye.
Across the valley the NW Face of Ulvetanna watched over us. From afar peaks always look big and intimidating. Once you get going and whittling away it’s not so bad.
With three teams working together - women, free and wall - we never had a shortage of stories and tall tales back at camp. The common thread? The temperature and the variable nature of the granite we climbed on.
