#TBT September 15th 2001. So I got a call from a member of the NYFD saying they had a building close to the WTC that was damaged and needed to be demo’d. On the 4th floor was a Copper Pots & Pans shop that closed in the 1940’s. Inside they said there was a “English Wheel”. They emailed some pics and I told them that ain’t no English Wheel but I want it! A Very Rare Early Pettingell Powerhammer with 3 movable Lower Arms! A cash deal was struck and Fedex’d them the dough(which I’m sure they used for a relief fund of some sort?) and I sent my good friend #IndianLarry and his dude Gerard over to cut it out of the building. Pretty cool looking through the pics. Really wish I could have grabbed more stuff in that shop before it was gone forever. Hammer is still in my possession and will be up and running soon #jessejames
