On my trips to Africa the days that leave me most fulfilled, are the ones where I feel that I came across a special project which I need to support- usually in the countries poorest areas and always led by the most compassionate and hard working people, loved and trusted by their community. I know I want to be apart of it, because change will happen and I can trust their efforts and spirit that will create a difference for their people. Yesterday I met Mamma Mickey in Cape Towns township Khayelitscha. She started a soup kitchen out of her shack and now feeds around 280 children daily, without any money or ability to buy ingredients. These are the sort of interactions that led me to launch my foundation in 2016 and without my trips, I’d honestly have no idea how and where to help with full certainty sustainably.
