Last night @mummysocial’s founder, Josie, shared the devastating news that her little boy, Dexter, is undergoing treatment for leukaemia. She has since had an overwhelming number of responses, with many people asking if there is anything they can do to help. The Mummy Social team are going to look at fundraising for a charity who support families in a similar position in due course but in the meantime, there is something very important that everybody can do to help right now and that is to GIVE BLOOD.
When Josie and her family’s world was turned upside down and they found themselves in hospital, Dexter immediately needed blood transfusions and it was because of those transfusions that he was well enough to start chemotherapy. Josie is now very passionate about blood donations and would really like to use the Mummy Social platform to get the word out and encourage as many as people as possible to register to give blood. Each blood donation could save up to three lives and over 6,000 blood donations are needed every day to treat patients in need across England.
