Mini physique update!?? ⠀ ⠀ 5’3” 117-120 lbs Body composition: 50% cookies, 50% tacos?? ⠀ -- ⠀ I’m eating more than I ever have in 1+ years. This is mainly due to my appetite coming back (emotional distress supresses my appetite) alongside my fitness goals of wanting to improve my metabolism and strength? ⠀ At this point in my life, leanness isn’t my priority – I’m focused more on getting more calories in my body, feeling amazingly energized at the gym, and of course… the gainz??? ⠀ I am currently on a training block that includes both powerlifting and bodybuilding style + tempo. I’m currently squatting once a week (will move to twice/week as soon as my knees feel better), deadlifting twice a week, and benching once a week. ⠀ I dedicate at least one lower body exclusively for glute building. My favourite exercises include: hip thrust, single glute bridges, American deadlifts, hyperextensions, and glute kick backs ⠀ I feel like a balanced athlete when I give each muscle group attention and care. This means I train my lower body, upper body, and back. I also include mobility work daily and practice mindfulness in my training (which is why if you see me at the gym, I’m usually very much in the zone?) ⠀ In regards to my diet, I am plant-based?, and have been for 2 months. This decision is an ethical one – one that aligns better with my values of compassion. I’ll go into my experience and how I continue to achieve my fitness goals on a vegan diet (way easier than I thought, lol!) in a future YouTube video (should be up next week)? ⠀ ◽️Disclaimer: for those of you who are non-vegan and consume animal products, I want you know I’m not the kind of person to guilt-trip or condone aggression over what other people eat. Your dinner plate = your business. I understand that diets that eliminate food groups can trigger disordered restriction among certain people. I’ve been there. I encourage you to let your decision stem from honesty, while considering your health as a whole. Let loving intention drive your choices for everything you do – food included?
