This is India’s Womens Wheelchair basketball team. They are small but mighty and in need of some funding to continue to grow and improve the lives of others with disabilities in their country. Please read their story and give or share with someone who can! Thank you! @womenssportsfoundation ・・・
At 16 and a half, Rekha (L, she goes by the single name), from Ghaziabad is the youngest player selected in this Indian wheelchair basketball team. She was one of only two players accompanied by their parents for the trials. Her father is a master tailor for some fashion designers in Delhi. He tells me that they make huge amounts of money but still pay their workers a pittance. Despite behind differently abled from the age of one and having used a wheelchair for the first time just three years earlier, she’s already a rising star and one of the fastest on wheels in the team.

They are really struggling for funds for even air tickets to get them to the para games qualifiers next month. With each ticket costing Rs.30,000 and 15 members (including 2 coaches and 1 physiotherapist) any help anyone can give, either monetary or by passing this information is paramount right now.
