This bold and colourful #GerhardRichter, painted with a #squeege, is one of the largest canvases ever created by the artist, and marked a newly realised yet utterly pioneering, critically celebrated period in his career. “My paintings became more and more impersonal and general until nothing was left but monochrome grey or colours next to each other. Unmodulated colour…and therefore I decided to paint the exact opposite.” On view now in our #London galleries before the #SothebysContemporary Evening sale on 7 March.
